John D. He was also a speaker on the subject of structured settlements at the annual meeting of the WV and VA Bar Associations in July 2003 an participated on a panel discussion concerning the Packaging of Settlements to the American Bar Association Tort Insurance and Trial Practice-Aviation Section (TIPS) in November 2005 and on "Structured Settlements: The Ultimate in Predictable Income" at the Embry Riddle Air Law Symposium in January 2011.

Mr. Darer has advised numerous claimants, plaintiffs,  attorneys, corporations, insurance companies, syndicates, and government entities on issues concerning structured settlements, economic damages and transfer of risk in the domestic, London, and French and South American insurance markets. John is a member of, and from 2006-2008 Mr. Darer served as co-chair of the Technology Committee of, the National Structured Settlement Trade Association, having also served on its Branding, Technology, Education, Public Relations and Long Range Planning Committees. In April 2007, for the second year running, John was one of four recognized for outstanding leadership to the National Structured Settlement Trade Association and the industry it represents. In addition to the NSSTA, he is a member of the Society of Financial Service Professionals, the Aviation Insurers Association and a Charter Member of the Nation al Alliance of Medicare Set-Aside Professionals ("NAMSAP"),  Retirement Income Industry Association ("RIIA").
